Conclusions: Although men reported some positive dietary changes during weight loss, they did not increase vegetable intakes nor decrease alcohol consumption, while saturated fat, fibre and Na intakes still exceeded national targets. Future interventions for men should promote specific food-based guidelines to target improvements in their diet-related risk factor profile for chronic diseases.]]> Wed 11 Apr 2018 16:51:22 AEST ]]> Trade-offs in quality of life and survival with chemotherapy for advanced breast cancer: mature results of a randomized trial comparing single-agent mitoxantrone with combination cyclophosphamide, methotrexate, 5-fluorouracil and prednisone https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:17161 Wed 11 Apr 2018 09:14:19 AEST ]]> Tenecteplase versus alteplase before thrombectomy for ischemic stroke https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:32925 Thu 17 Mar 2022 14:40:19 AEDT ]]> Endovascular thrombectomy for ischemic stroke increases disability-free survival, quality of life, and life expectancy and reduces cost https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:31270 Thu 09 Dec 2021 11:04:26 AEDT ]]> Six-month follow-up and participant use and satisfaction of an electronic mail intervention promoting physical activity and nutrition https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:9381 Sat 24 Mar 2018 10:45:37 AEDT ]]> Reporting of adverse events in systematic reviews can be improved: survey results https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:5406 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:48:08 AEDT ]]> Letrozole compared with tamoxifen for elderly patients with endocrine-responsive early breast cancer: the BIG 1-98 trial https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:5363 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:43:57 AEDT ]]> Randomized trial of short-course radiotherapy versus long-course chemoradiation comparing rates of local recurrence in patients with T3 rectal cancer: Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group Trial 01.04 https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:22369 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:09:29 AEDT ]]> Tenecteplase versus alteplase before endovascular thrombectomy (EXTEND-IA TNK): a multicenter, randomized, controlled study https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:32926 Sat 06 Jul 2024 14:46:59 AEST ]]> Risk stratification after biochemical failure following curative treatment of locally advanced prostate cancer: data from the TROG 96.01 trial https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:21794  9 months or TTBF > 3 years. Outcome measures were the number of days they drank alcohol, the typical number of drinks they consumed per drinking day, and the number of days they consumed six or more drinks. The primary analysis included participants with any alcohol consumption in the preceding 4 weeks (1,304 in Group A; 1,340 in Group B) using between-group, two-tailed t tests. Results: In Groups A and B, respectively, means (and SDs) of the number of days drinking were 5.89 (5.92) versus 6.06 (6.12), p = .49; typical number of drinks per drinking day: 4.02 (3.87) versus 3.82 (3.76), p = .17; and number of days consuming six or more drinks: 1.69 (2.94) versus 1.67 (3.25), p = .56. Conclusions: We could not reject the null hypothesis because earlier questions about alcohol dependence and problems showed no sign of biasing the respondents’ subsequent reports of alcohol consumption. These data support the validity of university students’ reporting of alcohol consumption in web-based studies.]]> Fri 22 Apr 2022 10:24:39 AEST ]]>
